Beautiful vintage high grade silver protection amulet/talisman. Produced by House of Jacobi, a family run jewelry shop that still exists in Tel Aviv. A beautiful dendritic agate center stone. Has a gold wash and inscription on the back. Measures approx 2 1/8" wide x 3 1/4" tall. One of their lines was a series of amulet brooch/pendants, that is based on Middle-Eastern Jewish folk jewelry. Recto is decorated with crude wirework and simply set stones. Verso usually has a blessing in Hebrew, or a traditional amuletic inscription. The free-style Hebrew lettering resembles that seen on Jewish talismans from Persia, Afghanistan, Kurdistan and Iraq. The wirework vaguely a regional style once produced in Tunisia.
