This is a Rare, vintage Cinema Arts Magazine September 1937 Edition Vol. 1, No. 3 By Cinema Magazine, Inc 160 Maple St., Jersey City, N.J. 11.5”x14” An unrestored magazine that displays signs of use. Includes edge wearing and the front page is no longer attached. Only a handful of issues were completed, and this one is exceptional. The cover by Jaro Fabry is a whimsical high style rendering of Joan Crawford. Inside are full page ads for Broadway Melody of 1938, Lost Horizon, The Prisoner of Zenda, etc. There are great articles with photos about Marlene Dietrich, Clark Gable, Paul Muni, and a three page story on Joan Crawford with 24 vintage photos! There is an amazing six page spread with full page photos of the "progressive proof" art of printing early color photographs. The subject is Marlene Dietrich, & photographer was one of the best, Anton Bruehl. There are beautiful unusual full page renderings of Mae West,Greta Garbo by Martin Kosleck.
