This incredible little piece of history dates to between 1856 when the company was established and 1881 when Kelly left the firm and has had a couple of minor repairs to the rear which would have taken place also during times of antiquity as evidenced by the components used. Front showcases an embossed scene of a horse pulling a harvesting machine and rider. Partially obscured, the rear is inscribed- "Champion Compliments of Whitely, Fassler, & Kelly Springfield, Ohio" This firm enjoyed a massive success in the mid 1800s as a premier inventor and manufacturer of harvesting equipment in Springfield. Please see photos for selling price of identical auctioned pin and for measurements in inches.
