    A large sommerso art glass bowl manufactured by Seguso Vetri D'Arte and designed by Flavio Poli in the 1960's. Made with thick clear and soft rose colored glass in sommerso with a thin layer of cobalt finishing off the interior; this combination and it's execution is quite stunning. The bowl appears to be solid cobalt in color from most angles. Seguso Vetri d'Arte was founded in 1933 by several glass masters among Archimede, Ernesto and Alberto Seguso. In 1934 Flavio Poli became artistic director and in 1937 partner. In the 1950s and 60s these sommerso designs of Poli became very sucesssful.  Poli retired from Seguso in 1963. height: 2 3/8 inches depth: 6 1/8 inches at top width: 6 7/8 inches at top weight: 3 lbs. 10 oz. This item is over 60 years old and has a few signs of age, but there is absolutely no serious chips, cracks, staining, etc. There are a few superficial scratches to the base and a couple scratches to the cobalt layer (I tried to capture them in photos) this bowl was us
