The Waterford Colleen Claret is part of the Waterford Archive Stemware Program. A Claret glass is intended for red wine. Waterford is highly collected and coveted. Its high lead content–33-1/3 percent–gives it the clarity and brilliance for which it is known. Waterford opened in 1851. For decades after the Waterford Crystal company was relaunched in 1951–after being shuttered for a century–Czech glassmakers reopened it and handmade, mouth-blown pieces were produced and by master cutters in Waterford, Ireland.
