Dakin 1986 Grand Opening Bear Pre-owned - from Collector This listing is for a white 1986 Dakin 8" Teddy Bear. It is in excellent condition with only a small bend in the paper hang tag attached to the bear. It is an ultra rare item in that it was never sold in any store. This was a give away item at the Grand Opening of the Dakin Building in South San Francisco on May 31 1986. They were given to invited attendees of the event. I know this for a fact as I was an employee of Dakin at the time, I was one of those attendees. It was a lavish event held in a huge outdoor tent. Fully catered and champagne flowing freely it was attended by several hundred invited guests. The building itself was a remarkable piece of architecture. Originally nick named the "wedding cake" it was later referred to as the Luke Skywalker building. This seemed especially appropriate after Hitachi built an all black shinning building in the same business park which would be referred to Darth Vadar building. The b
