Overview: Up for sale is an incredible antique oil painting on stretched canvas of a colorful harbor scene, including a towering clipper ship. The piece is incredible, showing quite a bit of talent. It does not appear to be signed, but it is possible a signature is covered by the frame. In any case, it is an incredible piece. It is framed in a simple brown wood frame that has certainly seen better days, but is sturdy. Based on style and canvas wear, I'd estimate this to date to the early 1900s. Condition: Painting is in fair to good condition for age. It has a number of areas with some fraying or rips in the canvas (including a large one at lower center, all of which have been repaired in the past. Frame is in fair to good condition with numerous chipping and scuffing. Measurements: Painting measures approximately 22 inches wide x 16 inches high. Frame measures approximately 24.5 inches wide x 18.5 inches high.
