Vintage Corletto 18K yellow gold hand carved Ebony Blackamoor Mediterranean Red Coral Necklace Pendant Charm. Made in Venice, Italy in the 1950’s. Corletto was the first European designer to create a full collection of designs crafted in 18 karat gold to sell in the United States after World War II. Accented under the neck with a genuine cabachon set Mediterranean Italian red coral bead in a scalloped bezel. The piece is suited with a loop ring to be used in a chain or a bracelet. This Nubian princess is handcarved beautifully in black Ebony wood. The bottom of the pendant marked “Corletto K18 Italy.” Some of the lettering has been worn away with time, but the markings are still visible. Measurements .80” (20 mm). Please see photos at they are an accurate description of the piece. My price is well below other similar Corletto pieces. This is a RARE treasure.
