This is a STUNNING signed piece by Victor Vigil. A Native American sculpture of a buffalo in multiple colors, on a wood base. Weighs just over 3 pounds. Bottom of the base to the top of the sculpture is about 6". One buffalo horn is damaged and missing the very tip - see picture/close up. Victor Vigil, from Jemez Pueblo in New Mexico, is a stone sculpture artist who is the recipient of many first place awards at the prestigious Indian Market of Santa Fe, New Mexico. Born in San Francisco, California, he was taken back to his pueblo when he was a youth and taught the traditional ways. He has been featured in many museums such as the Heard in Arizona, the Cultural Center in San Francisco the Cultural Center in Albuquerque New Mexico, and has traveled and shown his work extensively throughout the country. He was selected as one of the artist to go on tour representing Native American art in the Orient. His images are of great warriors, wild life and pueblo women.
