The image shows a vintage Coleman Instant-Lite Model 4A gas iron, likely from the 1930s. It is a clothes iron that used gas as fuel, a step up from "sad irons" heated on a stove. IT HAS A LOT OF RUST BUILT UP. It is heavy, over 6 lbs. Add another pound for shipping. Measurements: 10.5” long 6.5” tall 4” wide • It features a blue enamel finish and a fuel tank attached to the back side. • The fuel, likely white gas or a similar flammable fluid, is pressurized in the tank. • A match would then light the flame inside, heating the iron. • These irons were lighter and provided more even heat than traditional sad irons, but also posed a fire risk if not used properly. • Manufactured in various colors, the blue version was produced between 1929 and 1948. • This model is considered a very collectible item.
