First printing, with a full number line (10-1) on the copyright page, of the closest print of a Andy Warhol autobiography. Most of this book was transcribed from phone conversations between Warhol and his longtime friend, Pat Hackett, from 1976-1987. It's a very interesting account of his day to day experiences, with observations, gossip and healthy doses of bitching. The "diaries" conclude just a couple weeks prior to his assassination by radical feminist writer, Victoria Solanas, who was a bit part presence in Warhol's "Factory" scene. The photos of this book are a highlight, showing rare photos of various celebrities out of their standard element. The book itself is in good condition, with minor surface wear on front and rear boards, however the pages are in near mint shape, crisp and with only slight discoloration from age. The dust jacket is the main victim, but that even maintains a lovely presentation.
