Winter Cottonwoods East V (1954) by Georgia O'Keeffe (1887-1986). Custom gallery framed in walnut wood and earth tone matt. Two brown leafless cottonwood trees with intertwined branches. Areas of hazy grey give a feathered softened element to the winter feeling evoked by the trees situated in a tan-orange background. Glass front. Includes attached gallery label & hanging hardware. Image 10" x 8 3/4"; Frame 16" x 17" x 3/4". Condition is excellent. Frame and glass have no nicks, chips or scratches. Weight 3 lbs. 7 oz. Artist Bio: Georgia O'Keeffe born on 11/15/1887, Wisconsin. She studied at the Art Institute of Chicago and the Art Students League in New York. O'Keeffe was the first female artist to exhibit at the Museum of Modern Art (MoMA). O'Keeffe received the Medal of Freedom from President Ford and the National Medal of Arts from President Ronald Reagan. O'Keeffe died on March 6, 1986 at the age of 98.
