GREAT GIFT FOR CHRISTMAS Rare Vintage Mid Century 1950’s Cardinal 152 Piece Stone Tile Mahjong Set With 5 Bakelite Racks Dice Bakelite Bettor Bag Of Chips & Faux Gator/Snake Skin Green Case Famous maker Cardinal Industries was one of the major manufacturers of mahjong sets back in the day, and this set was one of their most popular designs a total classic. There are 152 lovely light greenish white tiles (not sure if they’re jade or soapstone) including 8 natural jokers. Included in the set are 5 excellent bakelite racks in red, yellow, light green, darker green and brown, with brass rack ends which fold to hold the chips in. Also included are some classic mah jongg accessories: green bakelite bettor, pair of red vintage dice, original key (I can’t seem to get it to lock) and a bag of vintage chips. This also has a really nice green faux Alligator skin hard case which being from the mid century era is in good shape has some small spots due to age but again it’s a 60-70ish year old set.
