Last available hydrant from the public art collection of 102 original pieces. Each underwritten by a local sponsor who then commissioned their artist of choice to create the one of a kind art work. This piece sold at auction for $2,700. Being sold here for $525. The hydrants were hand sculpted to exactly match Chicago’s iconic fire hydrants. Only blown up in size by 400%! Each represented one of Chicagos 102 active firehouses and those who bravely serve within them. They were displayed publicly throughout the City’s boulevards, waterfront, parks, corporate centers and brightest tourist attractions capturing the attention of audiences worldwide. They were then auctioned off individually with all the proceeds going towards a scholarship fund established for the children of fallen first responders. Every unique creation was purchased by a wide variety of art collectors and those who love Firefighters!
