This is very pretty original painting by New York artist, Harry Gottlieb Harry Gottlieb used gouache paint for this painting, featuring a young girl sitting in a chair; there looks to be some sort of animal by her feet The colors include green, brown, white and yellow The painting is matted & signed on the lower right hand corner The painting itself measures 9 1/4" x 6 3/4" Within the mat, the painting measures 12 1/4" x 14 1/2" This painting is not framed. Harry Gottlieb, painter, screenprinter, educator, and lithographer, was born in Bucharest, Rumania. He emigrated to America in 1907, and his family settled in Minneapolis. From 1915 to 1917, Gottlieb attended the Minneapolis Institute of Arts. After a short stint as an illustrator for the U.S. Navy, Gottlieb moved to New York City; he became a scenic and costume designer for Eugene O"Neill's Provincetown Theater
