Original hand-carved wooden Canada Goose bait from the 1940s. Unsigned, but attributed to Joe Melanson of Westmoreland County, New Brunswick. The bait body is carved from a solid block with a carved head. The original paint comes along with the older repaint/finish. The bottom of the lure has the original plumb bob and a metal ring for the anchor line. Wear, wood condition and age-appropriate paint loss. See photos for overall condition. A beautiful and rustic piece of early maritime folk art. It measures approximately 22.5 inches long, 8 inches wide at center and 12 inches high from top to top.
