Signed and inscribed by author on front endpaper and with personalized letter sent by author to a previous owner - the letter is also signed (the address is digitally obscured in photos above). Tells the rich history of the iconic hotel in California and the family behind its creation and upkeep. Also a memoir of sorts by Phyllis Madonna. Richly illustrated. Jacket now protected in new (removable) archival sleeve but with some rubbing to faces and shelf wear around the edges. Small torn areas to fore edge of jacket near top corner. Pictorial boards straight and clean but with corners slightly bumped. Binding is firm and spine is straight. All pages clean and unmarked. See photos for condition.
